Studio brief 3 - Development

I have started experimenting with colour within my designs but still feel a bit like they are lacking something.

I decided to try and incorporate some of the images I have taken for my research, of the book of postcards as I really like how the images have turned out and want to incorporate them somewhere. I tried placing the quotes over these images. I changed the opacity of the images in Photoshop and placed them into the Indesign document. However when I placed them into my Indesign document the image appeared over the top of the text and I really like the way this looks so have decided to go with it and used these images over the text for all of my opinions.

During our interim crit it was suggested for others in the group that they make their book look like the subject it was about, for example someone researched vinyls so it was suggested they make their book look like a vinyl cover. This made me think that I could make my book look like a postcard by separating some of the text like how the message and address are seperated on a postcard.

I have decided to try this idea out for my facts and statistics and really like the way it looks. I don't want my book to be overloaded with too much information and think this works really well to seperate my facts so there's not too much text in one area of the page.
