I have a number of ideas for my postcard designs. My intial idea is to just have typographic postcards with different greetings on the front, although I feel this is quite a simple idea so would like to explore some of my other ideas first.
One idea I have had is to try and convince people to write instead of texting or emailing so I tried drawing an iphone in illustrator and drew two fingers aimed at the iphone to try and make it humorous and I thought this would fit in well with the Urban Outfitters demographic. Although I liked this idea to begin with I feel that it doesn't work as well as I had thought and will need much more development. I also think the message although humorous may take away from the thought and care that goes into writing a handwritten note.
I have also been thinking about creating a design that includes stamps and thought I could illustrate animals on the stamps so I have used some animal silhouettes I had drawn in Illustrator for the frame brief but am not too keen on the designs. I then drew a pug in Illustrator and have created a stamp design based around this however I have found this was quite time consuming and as we don't have that long for this brief I think I will go back to some of my other ideas.
